I rest my case.
Picked up this tweet from @rohnjaymilller (www.take5interactive.com),
who kindly gave me permission to post it:
“Saw a plaque on park bench at the Minnesota State Fair:
‘He never came to the State Fair, but if he had, he would have had fun.’ ”
(I just happened to have a photo of a bench – imagine that…)
Debra Weighs In
I was determined not to gain any weight at the Fair. And crazy enough to announce it to everyone.
I indulged. There was 1 2/3 of a corn dog, 1/3 serving of fries, 1/3 serving of onion rings, and numerous bites of friends’ treats.
And the final count: I LOST weight at the Minnesota State Fair. 2.5 pounds.
Sounds like one of those buttons that says: Ask Me How.
Never go to the Fair hungry; eat a Greek salad or charbroiled chop for lunch or dinner; thoroughly enjoy 2 bites of a treat every other day and throw the rest away; walk the Fairgrounds with camera gear for 12 days.
So now, lighter and on the lookout, let’s see what’s in the cupboard
for my next fulfilling photostory project.
A cattleman who recognized me from last year, and knows I love the cows, told me to come back for the Beef Expo in October.
Keepin’ it lean…..
Having a Senior Moment
It has been delightful and inspiring
to see the great number of seniors at the Fair this year. They carefully climbed stairs; they trekked their way through crowds; they rested on benches and enjoyed the view.
I saw hearty seniors; I saw frail seniors. They were all remarkable in fortitude — and Fair devotion.
Two more days for special Fair pricing on my teeny yet mighty line of gift items!
I saw the nuns today at the Fair! They look so good on the tote bag I offer- good price and long handles for easy over-the-shoulder use. And the cow looks great on the notecards. And the Midway sunset looks great on the mug. And of course as a print. It’s done on metallic paper so it has a little extra kick. Thanks to all who have ordered!
